Today, Ruth Goller — an Italian-born, UK-based musician praised for her “thunderous bass-guitar hooks” (The Guardian) who has performed with the likes of Alabaster DePlume, Shabaka Hutchings, Bex Burch, and Damon Albarn — announces SKYLLUMINA, her debut album for International Anthem due out March 1st. This music, featuring de-tuned bass and overdubbed vocals, is otherworldly and defiantly unclassifiable — far-out sibilant ice age siren songs that haunt like something conjured in a fever dream starring Björk, Meredith Monk, and Mike Watt.

“Skyllumina is an album by an artist with a gift and a vision, and doesn’t reward repeated listening - it deserves it” Jane Cornwell - Jazzwise

“Breathtakingly beautiful, Skyllumina is a perfect off-the-wall masterpiece” Chris May - AllAboutJazz

“…pure Instinktmusik” Jan Paersch - Jazz Thing

“…staggeringly gorgeous” Kevin Hyde - Molars

“…Goller and guests create a world that is childlike, beatific and slightly terrifying".” John Lewis - The Guardian

“No mode of listening was as intense, however, as that brought to bear by bassist/vocalist Ruth Goller, an intimacy so deep it felt almost blasphemous to be privy to its wonders” - Tryan Grillo, ECM Reviews

“Lush textures to bath in” Cory Mwamba, BBC Radio 3 “A rounded tone and springing attack that constantly underpins the musical shape and character, a deep experience” - John Fordham, The Guardian

Ruth Goller - SKYLLA - Often they came to visit, even just to see how she was (M1)
